Minimum Viable Quality

We all strive to do good work. At least in what that is important to us. We wanna make it high quality. Only when the quality is high enough we can focus on quantity, right?

On the surface it’s obvious. But what we vastly overestimate is what good enough means. Most of the time, having just a little experience, our past experiences and a bit of knowledge we can make pretty good first draft. The rest of the polishing is overdoing it. Making it shiny, safe and 100% done. This is hiding. This is fear.

Progress is measured in number of attempts and learning from them. Not the quality measure of the attempts.
