We Are All Project Managers

Being a project manager is a tough. It’s a constant fight with obstacles and problems in order to bend reality to our plans. The world resists and fights back. That’s the never-ending battle.

Perhaps you had a chance to work as a project manager. Most of people didn’t. If you did you may have liked this kind of work or not. It’s different for everyone. But we all need to become project managers from time to time.

Even if we’re solo, even if we’re just a craftsman, at some point we need to work with plans, formalities and we need to meet deadlines while handling all the unexpected things the world throws at us. We turn into temporary project managers.

That’s why it’s worth to remember the fundamentals of every project: scope, deliverables, quality, time, cost, dates. Those are our primary variables when we’re in the PMing mode.
